Caring for your outdoor furniture

Welcome to the Alifurn Outdoor Living family, where your investment in quality outdoor furniture is met with our unwavering commitment to creating timeless pieces built to last.

To enhance the longevity of your patio furniture, we have curated a selection of care tips and maintenance guidelines that will allow you to relish your outdoor oasis for years to come.

Powder-coated Aluminum Frames

We’ve made it effortless to maintain your powder-coated aluminium frames:

  • A simple hose wash followed by air drying will suffice.

  • Avoid using chemicals or abrasives on the frames.

  • For deeper cleaning, gently wipe with soapy water using anon-abrasive cloth, then rinse and dry thoroughly.

Fibre-cane Weave

Preserve the allure of your fibre-cane weaves with these easy steps:

  • Hose down the furniture and let it dry in the sun.

  • For deeper cleaning, gently wipe with soapy water using a non-abrasive cloth, then rinse and dry thoroughly.

Technical Rope Weave

  • For your technical rope weave use a soft damp cloth to dust them off.

  • In case of extensive grime, use a mild household dishwashing liquid with hot water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to air dry.

Cushions

Keep your cushions in pristine condition with these care tips:

  • Tackle stains promptly to avoid permanent marks.

  • Thoroughly rinse off any soap or bleach residue after cleaning.

  • Vacuum or brush off dust and dirt regularly.

  • To minimise wear and fading, turn your cushion covers regularly.

  • Periodically wash cushion covers to prevent mildew and mould. Always allow them to air dry. All our covers are removable and machine washable.

  • When not in use, store your cushions in a weatherproof area.

  • Never use a pressure washer to clean outdoor cushions, as excessive pressure can lead to moisture retention, promoting mould and mildew.

Table Tops

To maintain your table top in impeccable condition, follow these practices:

  • Use heat-resistant place mats to protect table tops from direct heat.

  • Wipe table tops daily with a soft cloth and mild household surface cleaner.

  • Avoid using abrasive materials or solvent-based cleaning fluids.

  • For stubborn dirt use a mild household dishwashing liquid with hot water. Remember to rinse thoroughly.

Covers

Maintain your covers with these care tips:

  • Any residual moisture in the furniture (eg. humidity, cleaning, rain shower etc) must be allowed to completely dry off before the covers are placed on the furniture.

  • When humidity is present, the furniture should be aired on a regular basis.

  • If any residual moisture is trapped, all that would be required is a tiny bit of warmth and the residual moisture would sweat and activate spores that are trapped within the upholstery or between the two fabric surfaces. It is imperative that there is no residual moisture.

  • The covers should be cleaned regularly to remove leaves, bird droppings and general dirt. This prevents the growth of mold / mildew on the fabric and will extend the materials longevity.

Moving furniture

Care must be taken when moving any furniture. Never “drop” or “drag” your furniture. Rather lift, and place gently.

  • When moving furniture, please always pick it up from underneath the base.

  • Do not push or pull the furniture or try to pick up from the arms or back rest as this can result in damage.

Damaged due to misuse

  • It is not advised to stand or jump on any of the furniture. Ensure that all feet / legs touch the ground firmly to offer maximum support.

  • Pulling / stretching / striking the rope and fibre-cane with a hard or solid object can cause damage.

  • Ensure that all legs / feet touch the ground firmly to offer maximum support to the concrete top.

  • Where items have been damaged due to misuse, negligence or other causes, such as wind damage, repairs will be charged for.

Please remember following our care instructions is crucial to maintain the beauty and longevity of your outdoor furniture.

  • Claims resulting from non-compliance with these guidelines will not be entertained. Each case will be carefully assessed, and we will determine the best course of action to ensure the utmost satisfaction and service.
